Blue Water Central    by Jim Rothe

My layout, the Blue Water Central is HO scale both standard and HOn3 narrow gauge designed in sections. Brief history is it was started in Wisconsin in the early 80's and part of it was moved here to Plattsburgh 1980, it has since been moved one more time.

The standard gauge Blue Water Central railroad is a free lanced HO gauge 1930s era standard gauge layout occupying a 15' by 18' basement room, it Digitrax DCC with sound controlled. It was designed as a point to point for lots of switching. The standard gauge interchanges with the North Lake and Southern narrow gauge. Both standard and narrow gauge track is hand laid except for hidden and staging areas, most structures are scratch built, over 60% of the rolling stock is also scratch built. The engine roster is all steam except for one combustion engine on each road.   There are three towns, one with a port and two yards on the standard gauge, the the narrow gauge runs thru three towns and has one yard. The layout is basically complete except for constant upgrades.
