This HO Scale layout is prototype freelanced C&O, running steam and diesels in West Virginia in 1952. Layout is 22’x36’ with a 6’6”x11’ suspended 3 track loop staging yard in an adjoining room. The 250’ of double and single track mainline is operated point to point with continuous running enabled via a hidden staging yard. It has 20 staging tracks, 4 yards, three engine terminals, 1 city and 5 towns. Two branchlines go into hidden staging. The major industry is coal with 3 on-line mines with other industries modeled. Traffic is both freight and passenger. Movement controlled by train orders, car cards, fast clock and dispatcher via phones. Four CCTV cameras are used to monitor hidden staging via 3 monitors. NCE DCC used to operate layout.
