This HO scale layout ERA is 1953. The Whitehall & Rutland is a 22’x28’ point to point layout on two levels depicting the Rutland branch of the D&H RR between Whitehll, NY and Rutland, VT. It interchanges with the Rutland RR and the Clarendon & Pittsford. All towns that existed on this branch are represented. The scope of Hydeville has been expanded to represent a busy New England mill town. At this time, most of the visible and staging track is installed, code 70 and 83. The original layout plan has gone through many iterations incorporating layout planning ideas from the press and fellow model railroaders. Construction incorporates spline and plywood/Homosote subroadbed. It has little scenery at this time and may not be operational by convention time but viewers can see several innovative features of the layout, such as unique turnout controls, upper level support brackets and lower level lighting to name a few.
Completion Percentage: 95% Trackwork 1% Scenery
